Southland Maker Faire was an event that I created and directed for nearly five years. Hosted in the Pipefitters Training Center out of Mokena, IL, the event regularly brought in over 1,000 attendees and around 30 exhibitors every year. In addition to running the event, recruiting exhibitors, and managing the advertisement of the event, I regularly designed exhibits for it including an augmented reality sandbox, a near-space balloon exhibit, and a rapid prototyping workshop.
Southland Maker Faire was regularly featured in MAKE Magazine, the Chicago Tribune, and in several local news outlets.
